The Oregon Environmental Council says to take another stab at it: potted plants really do clean indoor air. They have the ability to capture those nasty chemicals like formaldehyde off-gassing from furniture as well as other chemicals from cleaning supplies and building materials

For those of us with small children, there's so much plastic kid equipment to buy (toys, car seats, strollers, outdoor play tables – the list goes on) it's stunning. Buying it second-hand is the way to go if you can find what you want.
