A team of computer researchers have created an online tool that uses a Bayesian network to guess the gender of an author based on a writing sample. I entered my most recent blog post:
Genre: Informal
Female = 684
Male = 1328
Difference = 644; 66%Verdict: MALE
Then I entered a recent blog post from my colleague Pete, who is British:
Genre: Informal
Female = 497
Male = 445
Difference = -52; 47.23%Verdict: Weak FEMALE
Weak emphasis could indicate European.
